Black Salt (Kala Namak)

Black salt, also called kala namak, has a distinctive sulphurous aroma and a salty, savoury taste. Use it in small amounts where its characteristic flavour is welcome.

Best for: chaat, raita, chutneys, fruit, drinks and savoury seasoning. Sprinkle after preparation or blend with other spices, tasting before adding more salt.

Storage: Keep dry in a tightly closed container away from moisture and strong odours.
